I don't know if you've heard but about a week ago this lovely man to the left (Governor Huntsman) signed a bill stating that the first 1,600 people to buy a home in Utah will receive a $6,000 grant to do what you wish with. That is in addition to the first-time-home-buyer's $8,000 tax credit. There are a couple of stipulations, the main being that it has to be a new (never lived in) house.
