An update at 16 weeks

It's been a while since we've written. Here is a picture of my gut. It's been fun to watch it grow. I spent last week in Oregon visiting Morgan, Will, and Tatum! It was a surprise visit (thanks, Chris) and it was a lot of fun as well as a much needed break from Rexburg. We did lots of fun stuff like play with sidewalk chalk, ate at an antique store, visited the science center, read lots of books, watched about six episodes of Law and Order, about ten home decorating shows, fifteen of the same episode of Sesame street, went to the the Saturday market and a "Death Cab for Cutie" concert (my first concert). I have to say, I wasn't too fond of the smells I smelled in that city but it's probably because my olfactory nerves are in full force at this point.

Summer semester started on Monday. I was only planning on taking a class or two but decided to take 14 credits (6 classes) to keep my scholarship. I'm taking a few fun classes though; sewing, fashion design, and a gerontology class (yes, I think gerontology is fun).

The pregnancy is truckin along. I still have nausea in the morning, but haven't been puking nearly as much. Today I had my third doctor's appointment and I swear they took a gallon of blood but Joe said it wasn't that much. It had to be a pint though. I can feel the baby move every once in a while. It really freaked me out at first for some reason! Our ultrasound to find out what we have in there is set for May 28th. Can't wait!!

Joe is working hard and studying for the series 7 he'll be taking in June. He wants to run the Dam Marathon (half) in June but he better get his butt movin because it's coming up quick. So, I'm going to start training him soon, I have Sports Conditioning class and we're required to train someone.

Hope you're all doing well and keep us updated!

Tuesday

SOLD

We finally sold our Audi!! Such a relief. I'll be honest, this wasn't my favorite car. It's been a headache most of the time. In other news; the baby will be 12 weeks tomorrow and I have my second doctor's appointment. We will be able to hear the heartbeat for the first time. Just in case you're all wondering, we don't know what it is yet. Out here in Idaho they make you wait until you're 20 weeks along to tell you even though I know you can tell by at least 16 weeks. Lame! So, any guesses or name suggestions?

Monday

New place and more space.

As some of you may know, we have owned this town home for about six months. We've been renting it out to the people we bought it from while they were having a house built. It will be so nice to finally have more space even though Owen will probably continue to follow us around everywhere. This will be our home until we move to NJ and then we will be renting it out to beauty college girls. So FYI, we now have a guest room! I know you all want to come visit..

A recommendation.

Really cute movie. I guess it came out last year but we watched it for the first time this weekend. If you haven't seen it, it's rentable material.

Friday

And the winner is...

After much prayer and thoughtful consideration, it feels great to finally have made our decision..

Many of you may be shocked and were probably thinking Hawaii was such an obvious choice. However, Joe lived in Hawaii for a year and a half so we were able to be a little more realistic about the situation. Let me list a few major concerns we had about moving to Hawaii:

Joe having to work 5am-8pm an hour away in Honolulu,
an hour car ride to the nearest sanitary hospital,
$1000/month for an apartment the size of our closet,
a homeless Mr.Owen,
and bottom line, I don't want cockroaches carrying my baby away.

I wish I could have taken a picture of the lists of pro's and con's we sat down and made the other night. New Jersey far outweighed the others in pro's. We are so excited to be able to live close to family.

So New Jersey, here we come!
